Volunteer with Capital Crew Boosters

Capital Crew Boosters Club is a volunteer parent-run organization with many opportunities for involvement, with varying degrees of responsibility. There are seven Board member positions, up to fifteen Coordinator positions, and hundreds of one-day volunteer shifts.

Board members are elected to a two-year term by the members at the Annual Member Meeting in April. The six elected Board members then appoint a seventh board member. The Board members then assume the Officer positions for the Boosters Club.

The Coordinator positions may be for a job that lasts all season long or they may be for an event that only requires a couple of months’ attention.

One-day volunteer shifts are available for all events and may include preparing and serving food for the athletes at home or away events, helping to sell logo merchandise at events, helping with social events, or other miscellaneous projects.

Without a doubt, the more parents who help, the more powerful Capital Crew Boosters Club becomes, able to complete more tasks, more economically for the greater good of our community.

Capital Crew Boosters Club is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization made up of parent volunteers who support the Capital Crew program. This support is both financial and in-person.

Booster dues and other funds raised help Capital Crew Boosters Club purchase and/or provide:

New equipment- boats, rigging, oars, cox boxes, etc.
Reductions in costs for the travel teams (hotels, airfare, food, vans)
Social events, including the awards banquet
Food for the athletes (breakfast and lunch at regattas; meals at away events)
Scholarships
Website and organizational expenses

Booster Board members, Coordinators and Volunteers work to provide:

Food for the athletes (breakfast and lunch at regattas; meals at away events)
Communication via our website and emails
Logo merchandise
Social events
Hospitality tent for parents at home events

All Capital Crew athletes benefit from the Boosters club. All the boats, riggings and oars used have been purchased by the Boosters Club over the years. Meals are provided at races, both at home and away events, and travel expenses are reduced. If your child is an athlete with Capital Crew, they are directly benefiting on a daily basis from the Boosters Club.
